Library News: January 5, 2024

Dear Reader:

This week at Your Small-Town Library was a slow news week. By now, the New Year’s Buzz has died down and everyone is making good on their resolution to read more, yes? Our first Night Owl Book Club meeting was on Wednesday, January 3rd.  However, this month’s meeting was simply a time to come on in and pick up this month’s read: Innocence by Dean Koontz.  In case you didn’t know, Ukrainian Christmas is on January 6th.  Mind you, the Oracle, (Google), informs that this year is the first year Ukraine celebrated Christmas on December 25th.   Apparently, some of us never got the memo.

Our Library Events Calendar for January is now available at the Russell Library and The Binscarth Library.

Book Recommendation by Jessica Davies, Librarian:

A Room With A View by E.M. Forster

“Let yourself go. Pull out from the depths those thoughts that you do not understand and spread them out in the sunlight and know the meaning of them.”

A sublimely passionate and picturesque trip to Italy, sends Lucy Honeychurch into a complete tailspin. As she returns to her traditional life in rural England, Lucy explores the many issues that surround middle-class Edwardian life. An idyllic romance that will leave you sundrenched and optimistic.

Jessica awarded this book 5 stars.

Happy Reading, Until Next Time.
