Nearing the end of June, one wishes one could dig in one’s heels and put the breaks on! Summer will be over before we know it, if we’re not careful. Oh! But we are enjoying the time and making the most of the days. We hope you are as well. Stop in to the Binscarth and/or Russell Library and tell us all about how you are making every day count.
By now, everybody knows that the Prairie Arts Cartel’s Art Fair was wildly successful. While some pined for more attendees, the truth is that the turnout was excellent and the people that contributed and the people that came were passionate and engaged in the enjoyment of Art. We hope The Cartel will make this an annual event.
Things are heating up in Binscarth! Cookies, Coffee, and Cards, also known as “get together and visit over drinks at the Binscarth Library,” is still the thing to do on the 3rd Thursday afternoon of every month. Case in point: Mayor Judy was at the June 16th Binscarth Library Cookies, Coffee, and Cards!
And then, on Monday, Binscarth Librarian, Rayla Buss attended the Biscarth School’s morning assembly to let the school children know about a draw for some wonderful new books that they can enter. The draw will be later this summer, date to be announced. Also, Binscarth and Russell are having Library Bingo (come in to either branch to pick up your copy and find out more.)
New in the Library Gallery, courtesy of Prairie Arts Cartel, is The Merchant Display: an eerily true to life line-up of artistic renditions of a variety of Russell merchants. Please come to the Gallery, see the art, stay for a hot or cold beverage, sign the guest book and … just enjoy.
Wednesday evening in the Green Space on June 28th will be our first annual Filipino Fiesta! Zumba, Karaoke, food, fun! We look forward to welcoming everyone.
